As you know, my favorite recipe growing up was Momma’s roast, potatoes and carrots. This is a recipe that is an instant favorite that will be asked for again and again. It is comfort food at it’s best. I plan on passing this recipe down through my family and hope that you will pass it down through yours too!

Ingredients for Perfect Pot Roast

  • 2-3 lb beef roast
  • 5-6 potatoes peeled and sliced into wedges
  • 1 bag of baby carrots
  • 2 in medium onions sliced half
  • 2 pkgs brown gravy mix
  • 2 c water
  • water
  • foil

How to Make the Perfect Pot Roast in Your Oven

  1. Place your roast in a large, oven-safe pan
  2. Surround your roast with your potatoes, carrots and onion halves
  3. Mix together brown gravy mixes and 2 cups of water
  4. Pour over your roast and veggies
  5. Add additional water until your veggies are covered
  6. Top with foil
  7. Cook in your oven on 325 for 1.5-2 hours
