How to Make 4 Ingredient Pork Shoulder in a Crock Pot
Aunt Lou here.
So, this recipe partially came about by accident. I put in a grocery order and ordered a 2 lb boneless pork shoulder picnic roast. What I received was a 5 lb bone in pork shoulder picnic roast. While it was not what I was expecting, I decided to roll with it. The result is this delicious 4 Ingredient Crock Pot Pork Shoulder recipe.
When cooking with a bone in pork shoulder and trying to figure out how many servings you will get from it, you need to remember the amount of meat you will have to serve will be at least 40% less than the beginning weight of your pork shoulder. The difference in weights come from the bone, fat and the loss of moisture while cooking. So, after the cooking of my 5 lb pork shoulder, it netted about 3 lbs of pork.
