How to Make Apple Chicken in a Crock Pot

This Apple Crock Pot Chicken is surprisingly delicious. The combination of the apples, apple juice, brown sugar, apple pie spice and chicken come together to give you a wonderfully flavorful dish. If you happen to be like me and have a picky eater in your house, I am happy to let you know that this dish was “picky eater approved” by my nine year old!
In my family, dark meat is preferred. However, I know that plenty of people prefer white meat. If that happens to be the case in your home, you can take the same weight of chicken breasts and cut them into thigh size pieces if you would like to keep the cooking time similar to the recipe below. Easy peasy.

What You Will Need for Apple Crock Pot Chicken
Ingredients Needed
- 2 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, trimmed (or boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into thigh size pieces to keep the cooking time similar)
- 3 apples, cored and sliced, divided
- 1/2 cup apple juice
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
- Salt to taste
Equipment Needed
- Sharp knife
- Cutting board
- Apple corer and cutter
- Small bowl
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoon
- Stirring spatula
- 6 quart slow cooker
Time Needed
- Prep Time: 10 minutes or less (This depends on how much you need to trim your chicken thighs.)
- Cooking Time: 4 to 6 hours on low or 2 to 3 hours on high, turning your insert halfway through cooking if your slow cooker does not evenly

Apple Crock Pot Chicken
Ingredients
- 2.5 lb pork tenderloin
- 3 apples cored and sliced, divided
- 1/2 cup apple juice
- 1/3 cup brown sugar packed
- 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Put one of your sliced apples in the bottom of a 6 quart slow cooker.
- Place your chicken thighs on top of the apple slices.
- Spread remaining apples on top of the chicken thighs.
- Combine remaining ingredients in a small bowl.
- Pour mixture over everything using a stirring spatula to get everything out of the bowl.
- Cover and cook 4 to 6 hours on low or 2 to 3 hours on high, turning your insert halfway through cooking if your slow cooker does not evenly.
- Serve chicken and apples with cooking juice spooned over top.
