Meal Planning on a Budget

Aunt Lou here.

We are going to use a super simple trick to save money for Budget Meal Plan: Week 40. We are going to be looking in our cabinets, pantry, refrigerator and freezer and using recipes with ingredients we already have. I realize that you are not going to have every ingredient already in your home for every recipe. The goal is to look for recipes that use as many ingredients as possible that you already have on hand. If you are like me, there are just some staples that I keep on hand for when I haven’t planned ahead. (Yes, it even happens to me from time to time.) I like to use them up before they expire, and this is a great way to do it!

I, obviously, can’t know what ingredients everyone have in their cabinets. So, for this menu, I will be using recipes that have pretty common ingredients in them. If one or more of the recipes in this menu do not work for you, you can always use our Recipe Finder to find a different recipe that will work for what you have in your home.
