How to Make Frozen French Fries in a Ninja Foodi Using the Air Crisp Function

Aunt Lou here.

When I first got an air fryer, I knew I wanted to try making French fries in it. I had always used either my oven or a deep fryer before. I love how easy it is to make these Ninja Foodi Frozen French Fries. It makes whipping up a side of fries for dinner so easy and gives us the perfect fries every time. You can also adjust the timing to give you the kind of fry you want. I know some people absolutely love crispy French fries while others do not. You can easily watch your fries when they are getting close to the end of cooking to stop (or extend) the cooking time until they are just right!

So, I realize this “recipe” is not something we would normally post since we are using prepared frozen French fries and not making the French fries ourselves. However, I know how much I use my air fryer to make French fries, and I thought this post would be helpful for you, our dear readers.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz frozen French fries kept frozen (half of a 32 oz bag)
  • salt, pepper and/or seasoning salt to taste optional

Instructions

  • If desired, place a silicone liner in the bottom of your insert/basket. Preheat your 6.5 Quart Ninja Foodi (using the Air Crisp function) or 7 Quart Air Fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes.
  • Pour half of a 32 oz bag of frozen crinkle cut French fries into your insert or basket (depending on if you are using a Ninja Foodi or traditional air fryer) and spread out evenly.
  • Close and air fry at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes, shaking the fries in your basket or insert every 5 minutes. (If you are using a Ninja Foodi, use heat resistant gloves or oven mitts to pick up your insert to shake it. The insert is too hot to safely touch without protection throughout cooking.) Watch closely on the last 5 minute cooking time so you can stop cooking the French fries when they reach desired crispness.
  • Season as desired and serve with a spatula or heat resistant gloves (so you do not burn yourself) while hot.
