I was in a slow cooker kind of mood. Seriously…this recipe made my THIRD crock pot going at once. I wanted something sweet and we had a few wonderful apples leftover from our trip to Anderson Orchard. This Crock Pot Apple Crumble Cobbler from Gooseberry Patch’s Slow Cooking All Year ‘Round called my name, and I couldn’t resist!
Aunt Lou here.
I already had some Slow Cooker Homestyle Pork Chops going in one of my big slow cookers and some Creamy Ranch Crock Pot Potatoes going in the small crock. So of course my next thought was “What about dessert?!”
Unfortunately, I do not keep my shelves stocked as well as I should to do spur of the moment recipes. As I flipped through Gooseberry Patch’s Slow Cooking All Year ‘Round, I saw this and instantly wanted to make it. I read the ingredients and wouldn’t you know I had all of them! Woohoo! And the crumble part of this Crock Pot Apple Crumble Cobbler just makes me giddy. Most times that is my favorite part, so I was sold.
This is super easy to throw together too! So that was a big bonus since I had been cooking and cleaning up the mess most of the afternoon. This Momma was dead on her feet already. So a recipe with lots of prep just wasn’t gonna happen.
Crock Pot Apple Crumble Cobbler
Peel, core and slice 3 large apples. You could do four, but we only had four left, and I needed to save one for Ryder’s breakfast tomorrow…so three it was!
Toss the apple slices with the cinnamon and nutmeg and spread them out evenly in a lightly greased crock pot.
Beat the two eggs in a bowl, add the milk, vanilla, sugar, 2 T of the butter and 3/4 c of the bisquick and blend it all together.
Pour the batter over the apples.
Combine brown sugar, the rest of your Bisquick and cut in your butter until it is crumbly. (Well, I usually start out trying to cut in the butter and get frustrated because I just don’t have that skill and then use my hands to make it all crumbly. To each their own! 😉 )
Spoon the yummy crumbs over the batter…do NOT stir them in…just let them set on top in all their yummy glory.
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 2 1/2 – 3 hours.
Then serve up this oh so delicious Crock Pot Apple Crumble Cobbler with some ice cream! The flavors are amazing! Honestly, I am a little picky when it comes to cooked apples, and these were perfect!
I could go on and on…so, go ahead and make it yourself and you will understand! Yum!

How thin is the apple slices? I was thinking of using my mandolin.
I used an apple slicer that cuts an apple into 10 slices each. Hope you enjoy this as much as we do!
Could this recipe be doubled in the same crockpot? Would that mess up the cook time?
I haven’t tried doubling this recipe. It would require a longer cooking time since there is more to cook in the same amount of space. The concern I would have would be if the center would be able to cook through before the edges burn. If you have a slow cooker that you know cooks hot, do not use it for this (or any baking in a crock pot). If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!
Want to try this. Sounds great. What size crock pot did you use?
I used a 6 quart slow cooker. I hope you enjoy this as much as we do!
This recipe sounds wonderful. What type of apples do you recommend?
I used JohnaGold. I think some people call them Johnny Gold. They were excellent! Enjoy!
