Aunt Lou here.

So we had a recipe a while back that we loved (Crock Pot Honey BBQ Chicken Wings). I wanted to try it again, but we didn’t have any chicken wings on hand. I thought I’d give it a try with some chicken thighs we found on sale. You are gonna LOVE this recipe! The sauce has an incredible flavor!

Ingredients for Crock Pot Asian Honey Chicken

  • 2.5 lbs bone-in chicken thighs, skin removed
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup lite soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki marinade
  • 1 cup honey

How to Make Asian Honey Chicken in a Crock Pot

  1. Place your chicken in a 4-quart slow cooker (I used Mr. Big, my 4-quart Crock Pot)
  2. Mix together remaining ingredients in a bowl and pour over your chicken
  3. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours, turning your chicken once halfway through
  4. Serve with sauce drizzled over your chicken

Crock Pot Asian Honey Chicken Notes:

  • I used bone-in chicken thighs that I took the skin off of because that is what I had on hand. I am sure this recipe would be great with boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, but it would affect the cooking time, so watch it closely the first time you make it.
  • As with any of our recipes, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
  • All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline and should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.

  1. This sounds great. How long should I cook it for boneless breast.

You could cut your boneless chicken breasts into thigh size pieces and keep the same cooking time. I haven’t tried doing this with full size chicken breasts, but think it would probably take between 4-5 hours depending on how hot or cool your slow cooker cooks. Make sure you watch it closely the first time you make it and use a meat thermometer to reach safe internal cooking temperature without overcooking. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!

I bet this would be so good over rice. Is there enough sauce to sink into the rice or should I add more? Look forward to trying this one.

      Hi Betti!

There is a ton of sauce! I think it would be great over rice too! Enjoy!
