If you love the Crock Pot BBQ Chicken Chowdown, then I think you will really enjoy this Crock Pot Beefy BBQ Chowdown. It has the same great base flavors as the original recipe but mixed with ground beef instead of chicken. Both shredded chicken and ground beef taste amazing in this recipe.
This recipe not only has amazing flavors but is super easy and quick to put together. You can make the prep for this recipe even faster if you use our Crock Pot Make Ahead Ground Beef. This recipe also cooks very quickly. You just have to give your ground beef and bbq sauce some time to meld together before you add the corn. When you bring it all together, the resulting meal is incredible.
What You Will Need for Crock Pot Beefy BBQ Chowdown
Ingredients Needed
- 2 lbs ground beef, browned and drained
- 24 oz bbq sauce (We use Sweet Baby Ray’s for this recipe, but you can use your favorite bbq sauce.)
- 12 oz bag frozen corn, kept frozen
- 8 oz bag shredded cheddar cheese
- 10 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
- Cornbread prepared
Equipment Needed
- Skillet and strainer or micro cooker
- Mix n chop or wooden spatula
- Scissors (for opening your bag of corn)
- Griddle or skillet to cook your bacon
- Stirring spatula
- 2.5 quart crock pot or 4 quart crock pot
- Whatever you need to cook your favorite cornbread
Time Needed
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cooking Time: 2 to 3 hours on low or 1 to 1.5 hours on high, stirring halfway through cooking
- Additional Cooking Time: 15 minutes on high after stirring your frozen corn in

Crock Pot Beefy BBQ Chowdown
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef browned and drained
- 18 oz BBQ Sauce
- 12 oz Frozen Corn
- 10 Slices Bacon Cooked Crispy and Crumbled
- Shredded Cheddar Cheese garnish
- Cornbread prepared
Instructions
- Put cooked and drained ground beef in a 2.5 or 4 quart slow cooker, top with bbq sauce and stir well.
- Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours or high for 1-1.5 hours, stirring halfway through cooking.
- Stir in corn and cook on high for 15 minutes.
- To serve, spoon mixture over cornbread squares, top with cheese and bacon.
