Aunt Lou here.

I was watching some Cookin’ Cris’ Dishes over on As Goode As It Gets’ YouTube channel. I came across the video for Crock Pot Magic Bars. In the video, Mikey and Cris discuss variations of the yummy Magic Bars. Well, we will be getting together for Easter this weekend, and I thought I would be the bestest sister-in-law ever and make up the variation Mikey talks about. (Now ya’ll know why he says he has great in-laws! 😉 ) So let’s all go enjoy these yummy Crock Pot Magic Turtle Bars!

Ingredients for Crock Pot Magic Turtle Bars

  • 1 1/3 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2/3 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 2/3 cup peanut butter chips
  • 2/3 cup caramel baking chips
  • 1/3 cup pecan pieces

How to Make Magic Turtle Bars in a Crock Pot

  1. Mix crushed graham crackers with melted butter and press into the bottom of your 6-quart or Casserole crock pot. (I used Cassie, my casserole crock)
  2. Pour milk over top of the graham cracker crust.
  3. Layer remaining ingredients.
  4. Cook on high for 1-2 hours, until set and edges are golden.
  5. Cool completely and cut into bars.

Crock Pot Magic Turtle Bars Notes:

  • This recipe is not a “set and forget” recipe until you know how long it will take in your slow cooker.
  • You can use the pre-crushed graham cracker crumbs for convenience or crush your own if you’d like
  • The recipe is done when the edges begin to golden and the condensed milk is set or no longer liquid. If you slide a spatula along the edge, it should easily pull away from the edge.
  • You may have melted butter rise to the top while cooking. Don’t worry… this is normal. Let your bars cool completely before cutting and the butter will cool back into the bars.
  • Do NOT cut the bars while hot. Let them cool completely before serving.
  • As with any of our recipes, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
  • All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline and should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.

I am confused. How will this work in a regular, round 6 quart crock pot? How to layer and how long should it cook? Love the recipie and want it to turn out perfectly. Thanks

      Hi Lucia!

It will work out the same in a 6-quart as it does in a casserole crock. Just layer everything out the same. The cooking time should be around the same. As with any recipe, make sure you watch it closely the first time you make it so you know exactly how your slow cooker cooks the recipe. Enjoy!

I do not have a casserole crock pot (yet). Do you know the equivalent time/temp to put this in a regular casserole for the oven? Is there a place to find this info? Thank you

      Hi Carol!

If you have a 6-quart crock pot, you could use that as well. Cris made a similar recipe over on Goodeness Gracious (link below). I think the cooking instructions would work for this one as well. Enjoy!
