Aunt Lou here.

So I have always been a big fan of Cris’ Slow Cooker Stuffing. It is basically the only way to do stuffing in my book. Then when I had Crock Pot French Onion Casserole, I loved the cheese with the stuffing. So I couldn’t wait to give this a try and share it with you guys!

Crock Pot Mozzarella Stuffing

Ingredients for Crock Pot Mozzarella Stuffing

  • 2-6 oz stuffing mixes
  • 2.5-3 cups chicken broth
  • 10.75 oz cream of chicken soup
  • 8 oz shredded mozzarella

How to Make Crock Pot Mozzarella Stuffing

  1. Combing your stuffing mixes, broth and soup in your 6-quart crock pot (I used Corky, my Hamilton Beach Multi-Quart Slow Cooker, on the 6-quart setting)
  2. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours
  3. Fluff with a fork
  4. Sprinkle your cheese on top
  5. Cover and cook on high for another 10-15 mins, until your cheese is melted

Notes:

  • If you like your stuffing fluffier, use the lesser amount of broth. If you like it more of a casserole type consistency, then you can use the larger amount of broth.
  • Do not forget to fluff the stuffing before adding the cheese. This step is essential.

  1. Do you use stuffing mixes like Stovetop? I didn’t know which kind to use. If it is Stovetop, do you use the package of herbs that come with it, too? It looks delicious and I love stuffing! With cheese makes it even better! I will definitely will be trying this.

      Hi Nancy!

Yes, I used Stovetop with the herbs. I hope you love it as much as we do! So yummy!

Cris, what meat recipe would you suggest I make with this stuffing recipe. I want to try this.

  3. Can you freeze this recipe

      Hi Joyce!

I haven’t tried freezing this recipe. I would be worried what the consistency would be when you reheat it. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!

  4. Can this recipe be gluten free, somehow? Sounds AWESOME!

      Hi Susan!

I’m not sure because my family doesn’t eat gluten free. If you have a gluten free stuffing recipe, you could probably alter it with the rest of the ingredients from this recipe. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help!

  5. I just came across this and I’m making stove top for dinner tonight and I’m in a pinch for time but I was wondering if this could be made on the stove… It looks so delicious

      Hi Victoria!

I haven’t tried making this on the stove, but think the recipe could be adapted. If you try it, let me know how it goes!

I can look at this recipe and know I’d LOVE it! I would be very tempted – more than very – to add some crumbled crispy bacon to this. I’m carb restricted so it might be awhile before I indulge. Tomorrow is Stuffed Pepper soup. We love it in this house!

      Hi Vicky!

I love the idea of adding bacon to the top! You have me saying, “Why didn’t I think of that?!” Guess I’ll just have to make it again. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thanks for the idea!
