Aunt Lou here.
I was going through my cabinets trying to figure out what to do with my monster pack of pork chops I got on sale. I had a few trips to the grocery store in a row where I happened to forget that I had stuffing at home. So, I literally had 4 or 5 boxes of stuffing in the lazysuzie. I thought that sounded good with pork chops, but what else…hmmm, there were my always-present cans of cream of mushroom soup. Then it hit me. Cris had made Crock Pot Chicken Stuffing Casserole that would work great with these pork chops!
I love that I had everything I needed right here at the house for this recipe. While I didn’t have chicken broth, I did have some chicken bouillon cubes in the cabinet to make some up with. I threw it together in no time flat. And even had time to throw together this Crock Pot Lemon Pepper Pork Chop recipe with the rest of my pork chops before the kids had meltdowns because mommy was cooking!

Crock Pot Pork Chop Stuffing Notes:
- For this yummy Crock Pot Pork Chop Stuffing, I used my Hamilton Beach Programmable Insulated Slow Cooker because it is straight up awesome! You can use your favorite 5-6 quart slow cooker.
- This recipe tends to be a little more moist than traditional stuffing casseroles, so if you prefer the drier texture, you may want to reduce your liquid in the recipe to at least 1.5 cups, however we like it as is.
- As with any of our recipes, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
- All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline and should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.

My family loves this so much they ask for it all the time and I haven’t done it lately. I woke up this morning and my son put out all the ingredients for dinner tonight. Silly boy, “I sure love him”
Found this recipe here over a year ago ,and make it AT LEAST once a month!
Gonna thaw some boneless chops after I post this 😉
I do double the stuffing and broth cause I LOVE STUFFING! Same cooking time.
Per yer advice, after trying both ways…I do prefer 1 1/2 cups of broth per stove top stuffing mix
instead of 2. stuffing is firmer ,can use a fork instead of needing a spoon.
I adjust it each time for my tastes, seasoning the chops,…but adding to the stuffing
mix IMHO really adds to it.Simple stuff like a drained can of mushrooms and some diced
onion.
I have made several meals from your site , but this recipe is one of my favorites!

I made this before according to the directions and it was delicious this time I put my own spin on it with keeping with your original recipe I rub the pork down with salt, pepper and Cajun pepper I put a little white dry wine, a tablespoon or so in the stuffing mix I added some sliced apples cut very thin and garlic like any good Italian wood lol this version was just as good. Thank you for giving me the recipe.
I made this today when I came home for lunch. When I returned home this evening, my home smelled so good! We just finished supper and we absolutely loved this dish! I’m new to crockpot cooking so this looked easy and yummy! Indeed it was! I served this with glazed carrots. My husband about licked his plate. WIll definitely make again. I made this recipe exactly as it was written with the exception of using 2 thick cut chops, 1 for each of us, and 1 box stuffing.
I’m so glad to hear that you and your husband liked this recipe! It really makes our day to hear that our readers enjoy one of our recipes. Thanks for letting us know!
Can you use boneless pork chops?
Hi Melody!
Absolutely! I used boneless pork chops in the original recipe. I hope you enjoy this as much as my family and I do!

Hi, I would like to make these stuffed pork chops in the crock pot ahead of time, two days ahead. How can I reheat these without them being dry? Wish y’all a very Merry Christmas and God’s Wonderful Blessing.
Doug (my wife’s holiday cook)
While this dish is typically very moist in nature, I can’t guarantee that it won’t dry out with reheating since pork is generally a very dry meat. If you don’t have time to prepare it the day of, our best recommendation would be to put it together the night before, place the insert in the fridge and then cook it the day of your dinner. Hope this helps!
I have one of those oval shaped crock pots. I cook for two people and it is a little big. What do I do about not filling the bottom of the crock pot? Dose this make a difference? Is there something I can put in there as a “filler”?
Hi Chris!
Have you ever tried the double broiler method? It is where you put a heat safe dish inside your crock pot insert (it needs to be a size that will allow the crock pot lid to fit on top of the insert) and put water in the insert (outside the heat safe dish) less than halfway up the side of the heat safe dish. That way you can use a larger crock pot to cook a smaller amount of ingredients. The cooking times are usually similar, but as we always say, watch it closely the first time you make anything so you can adjust the cooking time to your specific slow cooker. I hope this helps!

I have also made this recipe with chicken. One of my family favorites.
Just tried this recipe last night and it was excellent!! I see a couple of people thought it was too salty, just add a few sides and everything mixes really well.
I’m so glad you enjoyed this recipe as much as we do! Thanks for letting us know. It is always great to hear when our readers like a recipe we have posted.
Can this be converted to instapot?
We loved this with two cans of soup. Extra moist!
I’m so glad you enjoyed this recipe! Thanks for letting us know. It makes our day to hear that our readers like one of our recipes!
I do not see a oven recipe for this. Can it be done in oven? if so temp and cook time
Yes, you can find the oven version of this recipe here: https://www.recipesthatcrock.com/pork-chop-stuffing-casserole-oven-recipe/. Enjoy!
What flavor stuffing do you use?! Putting this on my grocery list now!
I have made this with a couple different flavors of stuffing. Chicken or savory herb flavors have worked well for us. Enjoy!

Do pork chops have to be thawed or can you use frozen?
Food safety experts advise to always use thawed meat in a crock pot. Here is a link to the USDA’s explanation: https://ask.usda.gov/s/article/Is-it-safe-to-cook-frozen-foods-in-a-slow-cooker-or-crock-pot. Hope you enjoy this as much as we do!
Did I miss where it says whether it’s cooked on Low Or High?
You could it on low. Enjoy!
Sounded interesting so we tried it. The pork chops were tender, but this recipe is Waaaay too salty. We didn’t finish our plates. Very disappointed.
While we didn’t find this salty, we understand that not every recipe will be everyone’s cup of tea. I hope you find a recipe you love in our library of almost 2,000 recipes.

The dressing looks dry? Could you use 2 cans of soup.
We didn’t find the dressing dry at all, but if you like a super moist dressing, you can add in some more soup. I am afraid adding a full extra can would leave you with a mushy mess. If you give adding more soup a try, let me know how it goes.
I have a pack of thin boneless pork chops do you think it will take 4 hrs or less?
I haven’t tried this recipe with thin chops, but think they would work just fine. The cooking time would be less due to the chops not being as thick, but can’t say exactly how long. It will depend on how hot your slow cooker cooks. I would start checking them around the 2 hour mark and watch the recipe closely the first time you make it. Enjoy!
So easy fast and delicious I used cream of chicken as I don’t do mushrooms it was amazing! I also added some cubed pepper Jack cheese 15 mins before removing and we loved it!!!! Ty
My fiancee is allergic to chicken.. anything I can substitute chicken broth for?
Hi Krissy!
I haven’t made this with a substitution, but think that water would work for your particular circumstance. The flavor will be changed some, but should still work! If you give it a try, let me know how it turns out.
Aunt Lou
I often use vegetable broth with pork chops, which gives more flavor than water, and is just as tasty as chicken broth.
Great idea Tamara! Thank you for sharing!
Vegetable broth would be good.
Was wondering if you had tried adding veggies to this…was thinking maybe frozen green beans (I refuse to use canned and I happen to have frozen at home) would you just mix them in with the soup? First time trying something like this
Better Than Boullion Vegtable- mix with water as directed
Love this delicious, very easy, recipe, Works great for Sunday morning. I come home after church, & it is ready to eat.
Maybe you could use pork broth if your store carries it. Or maybe beef broth. Good luck
Would you sear the chops first to create additional flavor?
Hi C!
I did not, but think you could give it a try! We always encourage our readers to make adjustments to the recipes to make them more to their liking. If you give it a try, let me know how it turns out!
Aunt Lou
I’ve actually always felt that searing, while locking in SOME flavor, tends to end up causing the dish as a whole to lose flavor…you can’t help but leave some of the drippings etc in the pan. Just my 2 cents lol
My husband doesn’t like mushrooms. Do you think it would be just as good cream of chicken? Thank you Samantha.
I use cream of celery and it’s delicious!
Hi Samantha!
I have not tried this recipe with cream of chicken, but think that substitution will work just fine. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!
Aunt Lou
How much longer should bone in pork chops be cooked for?
Hi Liliana!
I haven’t tried this recipe with bone-in chops. I would start with the times here and check it with a meat thermometer at the end of the suggested cooking time. Then you will have a better idea of how much additional time will be necessary. If you give it a try, let me know how it turns out!
Aunt Lou
Just great!!!! My family loved it.
I’m so glad to hear it Donna! Thank you for taking the time to let me know. It makes my day to hear that a reader loves a recipe!
Do you use boneless pork chops or bone-in pork chops? Recipe doesn’t specify just says pork chops.
Hi Carol!
I used boneless pork chops. Enjoy!
Aunt Lou
