How to Make Pretzel Brownies in a Crock Pot

Aunt Lou here.

We were sitting around at camp, and Mom came up with this fun idea of combining pretzels and brownie. I loved the idea. I am all about the salty and sweet combination. I tried it a couple different ways, and this Crock Pot Pretzel Brownies recipe was my favorite.

When you break up your pretzels, you will want to do it by hand and not crush them into teeny tiny pieces. I tried making it with crushed pretzels that I put through a food processor the first time, but the sweetened condensed milk didn’t get through the small pieces as much as I would have liked. I tried it again with pretzels broken into pieces by hand and really liked it that way.

The first time I made this, I also made it with a fudge brownie mix. The second time, I made it with a regular brownie mix and the results were much better. My fudge brownie mix just had too much moisture in it to set up really well before the edges burned.

You can eat these without anything on top. However, I prefer it topped with whipped cream and some crushed pretzels. It is incredibly delicious like this and sure to please.
