How to Make Reese’s Treats in a Crock Pot

Aunt Lou here.

We are on a dessert kick around here, if you have not noticed. lol It is the time of year where everyone starts thinking of their favorite candy. One of Michael’s (not Mikey…can’t speak for his favorite!) absolute favorite candies is a Reese’s Cup. He is not much on sweets, but is a sucker for a Reese’s cup. So, I thought I would give this Crock Pot Reese’s Treats recipe a try. Let’s just say, they are going over like gangbusters at my house! I bet they will at your home as well!

So, you are going to start with our regular Crock Pot Rice Krispy Treats, but while the crock pot is doing its thing for the butter and marshmallows, you (and anyone you can enlist to help that is not going to eat all of the ones they unwrap…aka not Michael in my house) are going to get to unwrapping the individual cups and putting them in a bowl to wait their turn in the crock pot. So, it won’t really add time to your cooking time, but just keep you busy while the crock pot is working.

These are super rich. I cut the 9 x 13 pan into 16 pieces and still think I could have gotten away with cutting them smaller, so cut accordingly. Also, if you enjoy milk with your chocolate, I highly recommend having a big ol’ glass of milk with these. It really does compliment the flavors perfectly! I truly hope you enjoy these as much as my family and I do! Yum!

Kim, you know we just love you! Yes! Moderation is key. For someone that needs to watch their sugar intake, I would highly recommend cutting these into very small portions. I cut them into 16 pieces, and they are a bit too big for the Sugar Princess. lol I hope you enjoy this “in moderation”. ๐Ÿ˜‰
