One of my guilty pleasures are the Strawberry ‘n Cream Pies at McDonald’s. They are so yummy! However, McD’s ain’t got nothin’ on this Crock Pot Strawberry Cream Dump Cake. Oh. My. Yum. I may never have to go back for a McD’s for a little pie again!

Ingredients for Crock Pot Strawberry Cream Dump Cake

  • 4 cups strawberries, cut into quarters
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar, divided
  • 1 white cake mix
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 stick butter, sliced

How to Make Strawberry Cream Dump Cake in a Crock Pot

  1. In a large bowl, mix together your strawberries, flour and 1 cup of sugar
  2. Spray your 6-quart crock pot lightly with cooking spray (I used Corky, my Hamilton Beach Multi-Quart Slow Cooker)
  3. Pour your strawberry mixture in your crock pot
  4. Mix together your cream cheese and remaining sugar
  5. Spoon cream cheese mixture on top of your strawberries
  6. Sprinkle your cake mix on top
  7. Top with pats of butter
  8. Place a few paper towels under your lid
  9. Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours

Crock Pot Strawberry Cream Dump Cake Notes

  • Being the middle of summer, strawberries are plentiful (and cheap!), but you can use frozen strawberries when you need a summer pick-me-up in the middle of winner.
  • The paper towels keep the moisture that gathers on the lid of your crock pot from dripping down on your yummy cake.
  • As with any of our recipes, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
  • All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline and should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.

      Hi Donna!

I have not tried this with an angle food cake mix. If you give it a try, let me know how it turns out!

This sounds like a must try. I love strawberries. However, I have some frozen blueberries that I need to use. I think I’ll give this recipe a try using the blueberries. Thank you for sharing. I’m 75 and it’s neat trying different recipes and also some that I have made in the past only with a new twist.

      Hi Lala!

Absolutely! You will just not use the flour and 1 cup of sugar that is mixed with the fresh strawberries. The flour and sugar are make the strawberries like a pie filling. Make sense?

      Enjoy!
