How to Make Homemade Breaded Chicken Tenders in an Air Fryer

Aunt Lou here.

If you love chicken tenders, I have a treat for you! These Homemade Breaded Air Fryer Chicken Tenders are a cinch to throw together and the first batch of four are ready to eat in under 20 minutes. Myself, my kids and my husband all raved over these! I bet you and your loved ones will too!

When I say a light coating with the flour mixture, I mean it. I tested this recipe a few times. When I tried for a thicker coating, it didn’t crisp up like it did when I went with a lighter coating. The results were so much better with the thin coating. Crispy and tasty!

General Notes

  • If you want a spicier chicken tender, you can up the ground red pepper and black pepper amounts. The most I have tried is 1 teaspoon each. They were quite hot to me with teaspoon each, but I am very sensitive to spicy foods. Adjust as desired.
  • Make sure it is a thin coating of the flour mixture and not thick. A thin coating will give you plenty of flavor while still allowing for the outside to crisp up.

  • As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly. • Finally, all air fryers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own air fryer and time adjusted as needed.
