Pesto Crock Pot Pizza Soup

I have taken my absolute favorite tomato soup recipe and turned it into this Pesto Crock Pot Pizza Soup. It is easy to make, customizable and absolutely delicious!

How to Make Pesto Pizza Soup in a Crock Pot

I recently brought Crock Pot Pesto Tomato Soup to a family get together. Mikey tried it and said that he thought it would be a great jumping off point for a pizza soup. I thought that was a great idea, and now you have this amazing Pesto Crock Pot Pizza Soup!
When making this, customize it to what you are those you are serving prefer! In my house, my daughter and I are picky eaters, so what I made will be the base recipe for those with more adventurous palates. I have included amounts for olives, mushrooms, onion and peppers for anyone that would like to have them in your soup!
What You Will Need for Pesto Crock Pot Pizza Soup
Ingredients Needed
- 1 lb ground Italian sausage, browned and drained
- 1 cup pepperoni slices, chopped
- 29 oz canned diced tomatoes with basil, oregano and garlic, undrained (2 – 14.5 oz cans)
- 21 oz canned condensed tomato soup (2 – 10.5 oz cans)
- 2 cups milk
- 6 tablespoons basil pesto sauce
- 1 green pepper, washed and chopped (optional)
- 1 cup onion, chopped (optional)
- 4 oz can sliced mushroom, drained (optional)
- 2.25 oz can sliced black olives, drained (optional)
- Shredded mozzarella cheese for garnish
Equipment Needed
- Skillet and strainer or micro cooker
- Meat chopper
- Sharp knife
- Cutting board
- Safety can opener
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoon
- Mixing bowl
- Immersion blender
- Stirring spatula
- 6-quart crock pot
Time Needed
- Prep Time: 10 to 15 minutes
- Cooking Time: 2 to 3 hours on low or 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes on high, stirring halfway through the cooking time

Pesto Crock Pot Pizza Soup
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground Italian sausage browned and drained
- 1 cup Pepperoni Slices chopped
- 29 oz Diced Tomatoes with Basil, Oregano and Garlic undrained (2 – 14.5 oz cans)
- 21 oz canned condensed tomato soup
- 2 cups milk
- 6 tablespoons basil pesto
- 1 small green pepper washed, chopped (
- 1 cup onion chopped (optional)
- 4 oz can sliced mushrooms drained (optional)
- 2.25 oz can sliced olives drained (optional)
- shredded mozzarella cheese garnish
Instructions
- Put 29 oz Diced Tomatoes with Basil, Oregano and Garlic (undrained) in a mixing bowl and use an immersion blender to blend the diced tomatoes to desired texture for the soup.
- Put 1 lb ground Italian sausage (browned and drained), 1 cup Pepperoni Slices (chopped), blended tomatoes, 21 oz canned condensed tomato soup, 2 cups milk, 6 tablespoons basil pesto, 1 small green pepper (chopped, optional), 1 cup onion (chopped, optional), 4 oz can sliced mushrooms (drained, optional) and 2.25 oz can sliced olives (drained, optional) in a 6-quart crock pot and stir until well combined.
- Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours or high for 1-1.5 hours, stirring halfway through the cooking time.
