How to Make Donuts and Donut Holes in an Air Fryer
Aunt Lou here.
Oh my goodness folks! This recipe for Air Fryer Donuts is a must have recipe for your recipe box. It is super easy to throw together and incredibly yummy.
I decided to make a couple different flavors of donuts and donut holes. You can make yours all in one flavor or divide it up like we did. I honestly can’t make up my mind which is my favorite. They are both so yummy!
This recipe can get a little messy, but it is a yummy mess, so that makes it okay in my book! You will definitely want to wear an apron and/or not be in your best clothes. However, with that being said, it is a really fun recipe to get any kids in your life involved in. My kiddos had a blast helping me roll the donuts around to coat them. So this recipe is not only easy and delicious, but fun as well…win, win, win!

Air Fryer Donuts
Ingredients
- 16 oz tube refrigerated jumbo biscuits divided
- 1/2 cup Butter melted
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Turn your air fryer on to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes to preheat it.
- While your air fryer is preheating, use your 1 inch biscuit cutter to cut the center of each biscuit out and set the centers aside.
- Once air fryer is preheated, place 4 biscuits in the bottom of the air fryer basket so they are evenly spaced and not touching the sides or each other.
- Cook on 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5-6 minutes, flipping the donuts halfway through cooking time. (Be careful! Everything is extremely hot. I would recommend wearing an oven mitt and using tongs to do the flipping.)
- While your first batch is cooking, put your powdered sugar in one bowl. In another bowl, mix together your cinnamon and sugar. You will also want to have your butter melted in a cup or small bowl with a basting brush ready for your first batch to be done.
- Remove the cooked donuts and place the next batch in to follow the same cooking temperature and time as the first batch.
- While your second batch is cooking, use a basting brush to coat your donuts in butter and roll in desired toppings until well coated.
- Set finished donuts on a plate to cool.
- Repeat the buttering and topping coating step on your second batch once they are done.
- For the donut holes, you will need to have your air fryer on 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 2-3 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
- Repeat the buttering and topping coating step for your donut holes.

Hi – there are so many different canned biscuits out there. What kind did you use (Flaky, buttermilk, Homestyle)?
I used flaky, but they did try to come apart a little. Homestyle and buttermilk would also work well. Enjoy!
