- 1.5 cup uncooked macaroni cooked al dente and drained
- 1 lb ground beef cooked and drained
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 3/4 cup evaporated milk (1/2 of a 12 oz can)
- 3/4 cup milk
- 16 oz Velveeta cubed
- 1/4 cup butter sliced

I see that most of the ingredients are scaled down from the crockpot version to stovetop. Does it still call for a full pound of Velveeta on the stovetop?

Do you think you could you use half & half instead of evaporated milk?
I haven’t tried that substitution Sharon. It might change the flavor and consistency a bit, but if you prefer half and half, then you might like it. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!

What else could be used instead of velveeta? Cream cheese or shredded velveeta? Not a fan of the block velveeta.

I haven’t tried it with anything different, but think that shredded Velveeta would be your best bet. I would start with a cup and then add more to reach your desired consistency (remember that it will thicken up as it cools). If you give a try, let me know how it goes!
