How to Make Bacon Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole in a Slow Cooker
Aunt Lou here.
We’ve noticed that our readers love Tater Tot Casseroles. So we have been working on some great tater tot casseroles just for you, our wonderful readers. This Crock Pot Bacon Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole is the next in line! You are gonna love it!
This recipe is based off of our reader favorite Crock Pot Bacon Cheeseburger Dip. That dip is a favorite for a reason and tastes delicious when made into this yummy casserole!
A difference between the dip and the casserole is that you need to whip the cream cheese first for the casserole. The reason for this is because you can stir the dip while it is cooking in your crock pot. When you stir the dip, it distributes the cream cheese throughout the dip. With the casserole, you can’t stir it, or it would break up your tater tots. So, if you whip it (by hand or with a mixer) before you mix it with the other ingredients, you will be able distribute the cream cheese evenly throughout the mixture before you put it into the slow cooker. You don’t want one bite without the yummy goodness that the cream cheese adds to this dish!
This would be a great dish to have at home or to take to a potluck (or a pitch-in if you are from Southern Indiana). It is sure to be a winner no matter where you serve this delicious casserole!

I’m just double checking here. There is no salt added at all? Not even to the meat when we are frying it up?
We did not add any salt when we made it and liked it. We always encourage our readers to make our recipes their own though. I would start with a little salt and add more to individual servings if it isn’t enough so that it isn’t too salty. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!
Rating is for appearance I haven’t tried it yet. You mentioned putting under the broiler can you put your crock pot insert under the broiler?
You will want to check your manual or manufacturer’s website to make sure it is safe for your specific slow cooker insert. The one I used is safe. I have done this multiple times. Enjoy!
