How to Make Cheesy Taco Dogs in a Slow Cooker

There are not many people in the world who do not love a good chili dog. And Cris has a delicious recipe for Crock Pot Chili Cheese Dogs that you do not want to miss if you are in the mood for a traditional chili dog. However, if you are looking for something else to dress up your hot dogs, this Crock Pot Cheesy Taco Dogs recipe is for you!
If you have already made up some of our wonderful, time-saving Make Ahead Ground Beef, then this becomes a dump and go recipe. If not, you don’t have to worry. This is still a simple recipe. It will still take very little time to throw together!
This is a perfect addition to a potluck (or pitch-in if you are from Southern Indiana). They would go perfect with Cris’ Cooking Hot Dogs in Bulk recipe! It would also be great for a party. Ryder and Iyla would love them at their next birthday parties! You could keep the hot dogs and the taco topping warm in the crock pot!
If you do not have a 4-quart slow cooker, you can also make this in a 6-quart slow cooker. You will just want to watch it closely the first time you make it to adjust your cooking time. Whether you are using a 4-quart or 6-quart, you will want to make sure you don’t skip the stirring part of the recipe. When cooking cheese in a slow cooker, you don’t want the cheese on the edges to get stuck to the side and burn.

Crock Pot Cheesy Taco Dogs
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef browned and drained
- 15 oz Can Refried Beans
- 1 oz taco seasoning
- 1 cup Mexican Blend Shredded Cheese plus more if you want to sprinkle some on top at the end
- 10.5 oz Can Cheddar Cheese Soup
- 1 lb hot dogs cooked
- hot dog buns
Instructions
- Mix together your ground beef, beans, seasoning and soup in your 4-quart crock pot until well combined
- Cover and cook on low for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally
- Once heated through, serve over cooked hot dogs on buns and sprinkle with shredded cheese, if desired
