How to Make Cheesy Potato Ham Casserole in a Crock Pot
Aunt Lou here.
We received an email the other day from a reader, Cindy B., telling us about a recipe she makes. It sounded delicious to me, so I thought I would give it a try. Now you get to try this wonderful Crock Pot Cheesy Potato Ham Casserole recipe. We loved it! Thanks Cindy!
This recipe is very versatile for the ham. I used 3 cups of cubed ham. You could make this recipe with leftover ham from a holiday feast, ham that is packaged already cubed or by cutting up a ham steak. This time around, I made this recipe by cutting up a ham steak. For reference, my ham steak weighed just over 1.25 pounds. I’m thinking I will be making this again after our holiday feast. It is so yummy!
I love how the sauce of this recipe takes on the flavor of the ham. When I first took a bite, I was met with a wonderful melding of the tastes of the cheese and ham. My family loved it, and I hope you and your loved ones do too!

3cups or 3lbs of potatoes? 3 cups does not seem like nearly enoughโฆ.
Hey De-
The recipe we tested is for 3 cups as written. If you prefer more potatoes, you definitely can test it out. Cooking times will likely change if you change the amount of ingredients. Enjoy!
I made this for a potluck. Seemed a little boring so I added onion and celery and changed soup to cream of celery. It was great!
