How to Cook Chicken Biscuit Casserole in a Slow Cooker
Aunt Lou here.
Whether you can’t find ground beef in the store or just want to try something different, this Crock Pot Chicken Biscuit Casserole is a crowd pleaser.
This version has fewer servings than the ground beef recipe, but if you still need more servings, you can easily double the recipe and cook it in a 6-quart crock pot. Please note, the cooking time will most likely extend to around 4 hours if you do double it. As always, with any new recipe you are trying, always watch it closely the first time you make it. All slow cookers cook differently.
The tops of the biscuits brown up some in the crock pot. They are completely done in the middle, but they will not have the same golden tops as you normally see from an oven. However, if you want the pretty gold biscuit tops, you can easily pop in the broiler for a few minutes, but only IF your slow cooker insert is safe for the broiler. If you can’t put yours in the broiler, don’t worry, it is still super yummy!
For this recipe, you can cook your chicken however you like. I just did a quick pan fry for mine, but you could also easily boil up your chicken, grill your chicken on an indoor or outdoor grill or use leftover chicken! Whatever suites your fancy!
