How to Make Garlic Pork Chops in a Crock Pot

Aunt Lou here.

If you have any kiddos in your life that like to cook, this is a fun one to let them join in on. While I was browning the pork chops and melting butter, Ryder gathered up all the other ingredients for me. Then he was able to mix up the seasonings with the butter (with supervision to make sure he was using the correct measurements) and whisk them up. Not only was it a help to me while I was making this, but a fun and easy recipe to use to teach him how to read and follow a recipe.

If you don’t have kiddos around to help (or that want to help), that is fine too! You can whip this up very quickly and have delicious dinner prepared in no time! The flavor is amazing on these chops. I served them up at camp and received rave reviews from everyone. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium/high heat.
  • Brown all of your pork chops, about 3 minutes on each side.
  • Place your browned pork chops in a 6-quart crock pot or casserole crock pot, pouring the remaining butter/cooking juices over top.
  • Whisk together your melted butter and spices and pour evenly over your pork chops.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-2.5 hours. If possible, rotate the chops on top with the chops on bottom when you have about 30-45 minutes left in the cooking time. This will help make all the chops wonderfully juicy and tender.

  1. We’re a family of three…this could be cut down couldn’t it? Would cooking time be the same?

      Hi Vicki!

Yes, you can adjust the number of servings on the recipe card to adjust the ingredient amounts. If you have a smaller slow cooker, I would use it since you will be making less. I haven’t tried making this in a smaller portion, so I can’t tell you how different the cooking time will be. It will depend on the size of slow cooker you use and how much you reduce the recipe. My best advice is to watch it closely the first time you make it and use a meat thermometer to check your chops. I hope you and your family enjoy this as much as we do!
