How to Make Scalloped Potatoes and Pork Chops in a Crock Pot

Aunt Lou here.

Have I got a treat for you, folks! This Crock Pot Scalloped Potatoes and Pork Chops recipe is straight up amazing! You have a little bit of prep work and then the crock pot does the rest! This meal is just a wonderful comfort food meal that will have everyone asking for more! (Psst…if you want to try this recipe with ham steaks, you can find it here.)

This recipe would also be easy to cut in half. In my 2 lb package of pork chops, I had exactly 8 chops. If you notice the recipe calls for 8 potatoes. The only ingredient that would take a little eyeballing to figure out would be the can of cream of celery soup, but I have faith in you! I bet you could do it. So, this recipe could easily be made for 2 people and only have one night of leftovers!

I have made this recipe a couple of times. If you cannot find cream of celery soup in your store, it is okay to substitute with cream of chicken soup. I have tried it both ways, both are delicious. I have not had a chance to try this with cream of mushroom soup, but think it would work as well.

My pork chops were between a quarter of and inch and a half inch thick. They were not super thin or extra thick…right in the middle. Enjoy!

  2. Can the cheese be left out of the pork chops and scalloped potatoes recipe? Hubby doesn’t like cheese.

      Hi Judy!

I haven’t tried this without the cheese. You might want to add a little more liquid to make sure the potatoes have enough liquid to cook. If you give it a try, let me know how it turns out!
