How to Make Swiss Steak in a Crock Pot
Aunt Lou here.
The only thing that keeps this Crock Pot Swiss Steak recipe from being a true dump and go recipe is that you have to cut the round steak into four pieces. Other than that, all you have to do is put the ingredients in the crock pot in order. Your slow cooker will do the rest of the work. This is a great recipe for someone who is new to cooking to try. It is simple to make, fork tender and tastes great! This also makes it great for someone who has been cooking for a long time, but they just want a wonderful, easy recipe to give them a break.
This recipe is great on its own with some amazing side dishes. However, it would also taste great over a bed of rice…again, with some wonderful dishes. Whichever way you decided to serve this, I hope you enjoy it just as much as my family and I do.

Aunt Lou, I only have a 6 quart. Is there any adjustments I need to do? Thank you in advance!
I would use the double broiler method for this recipe in a 6 Quart Slow Cooker. Take a heat safe mixing bowl that will fit in your 6 Quart’s insert and put the ingredients in the bowl as the recipe states. Put water in the insert of your 6 Quart, place your bowl in the water (if the water comes over halfway up the side of the bowl, remove some water until it is just below halfway up the side of the bowl), cover and cook per the recipe. Watch it closely to make sure you know how your slow cooker cooks this way. Doing it this way will essentially let you convert your 6 Quart into a small slow cooker. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!
