This Good Gravy Beefy Tater Tot Casserole recipe for your oven is adapted from one of our reader favorite (and favorite in my home) crock pot recipes. Whether you make this in the oven or the crock pot, you are sure to love this. It is a comfort food casserole at its best. What You Will Need for Good Gravy Beefy Tater Tot Casserole

Ingredients Needed

  • 1 lb ground beef, browned and drained
  • 10.5 oz heart healthy mushroom soup (I have also seen this type of soup labeled as “Healthy” or “Healthy Request” depending on the brand.)
  • 10.75 oz can beefy mushroom soup (OR golden mushroom soup)
  • Ranch dip mix
  • Reduced sodium brown gravy mix
  • 1/4 cup low sodium beef broth
  • Pepper Jack cheese
  • 32 oz frozen tater tots, kept frozen
  • Cooking spray

Equipment Needed

Time Needed

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes or longer if your oven takes longer to preheat to 425 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Cooking Time: 35 to 40 minutes, until your tater tots reach desired crispness, turning your casserole dish halfway through baking time if your oven does not cook evenly

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef browned and drained
  • 10.75 oz Healthy Cream of Mushroom Soup (I have also seen this type of soup labeled as โ€œHealthyโ€ or โ€œHealthy Requestโ€ depending on the brand.)
  • 10.75 oz can beefy mushroom soup (OR golden mushroom soup)
  • 1 oz ranch dip mix
  • 1 oz low sodium brown gravy mix packet
  • 1/4 cup low sodium Beef Broth
  • Pepper Jack Cheese
  • 32 oz frozen tater tots kept frozen

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Lightly spray your 9 x 13 baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Spread your cooked and drained ground beef evenly in the bottom of your dish.
  • Spoon your soups evenly across your ground beef.
  • Pour your broth into your cream of mushroom soup can and stir with a spoon to rinse out the can before pouring it around the edges of the crock pot.
  • Sprinkle your mixes on top of soups.
  • Lay your Pepper Jack cheese slices in a single layer across the top of your casserole.
  • Spread your tater tots evenly across the top of everything.
  • Bake for 30-45 minutes, until your tater tots have reached desired browning, turning your insert halfway through cooking if your slow cooker does not cook evenly.
