Cris here. My friends atย Gooseberry Patch recently sent me a copy of their new cookbookย Fresh and Easy Family Meals. And we –of course– just love it so we want to give one to one lucky reader AND ANOTHER to one lucky YouTube subscriber.
While Gooseberry Patch’sย ย Fresh and Easy Family Meals. is NOT a slow cooker cookbook we found that many of their recipes (especially the soups) were easy to convert to crock pot recipes and it was also FULL of great easy recipes that compliment our other crock pot dishes very well. Here is a little taste of a few recipes from the cookbook we tried..
Crock Pot Tuscan Bean Soup– This soup had an amazing flavor and was easily adaptable to our crock pot! It is on our short list for the next time company comes over.
Crock Pot Tex-Mex Salsa Soup– is a delightful twist on your traditional salsa soup! I love when I find a new way to play off of flavors I know my family will devour!
Crock Pot Beefed Up Tacos– Is a crock pot adaptation of one of the skillet recipes in the cookbook. We LOVED how this recipe let us stretch our ground beef to feed more folks.
Easy Salsa Recipeย is not a crock pot recipe but we LOVED this dish! You won’t believe just how easy it is to make this impressive homemade salsa!

Of the recipes shown on this post, I would probably pick the Tuscan Bean Soup since I have been doing a lot more cooking with beans lately and more specifically – white beans. All of the recipes look tasty though so I will probably try them all. Summer in Texas is Crock Pot season because the stove and oven really heat up the house too much. The Crock Pot is truly a blessing for hot Texas summers.
Salsa soup (along with everybody)
Today I would love some Tuscan bean soup. Also I just watched Mikey’s video cooking up the pizza dip. That looked awesome and I am going to make it today as soon as I go to the store for a few items,
I would LOVE to actually try ALL the about recipes. I just LOVE to cook !! But the one that intrigues me the most is the Tuscan Bean Soup. Even though it is summer, I would make that soup!!!
