How to Make Onion Roast in a Ninja Foodi Using the Electric Pressure Cooker Function

Aunt Lou here.

With only four ingredients, I mean it when I say that this Ninja Foodi Onion Roast is super easy to put together. You get a delicious, but not overpowering, onion flavor without going to the trouble of cutting up an onion. My entire family absolutely loved how tender and flavorful this roast is. It goes great with some delicious mashed potatoes. If you are looking for a wonderful mashed potatoes recipe, I highly recommend these Crock Pot No Boil Mashed Potatoes. They taste great and can be made in your crock pot while your roast is made in your electric pressure cooker!

(If this roast sounds delicious to you, but you would rather make it in your crock pot, you can find the original version of this recipe here.)

General Notes

  • We’ve tested this recipe in a 6 quart Instant Pot and 6.5 quart Ninja Foodi. When pressure cooking with larger pressure cookers, you may need to add 1/2 cup to 1 cup more liquid to reach pressure. Make sure not to overfill smaller pressure cookers past their max lines.

  • As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly. As a result, your nutritional content depends on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish. The auto-calculation is just an automated estimate and should NOT be used for specific dietary needs.
  • Finally, all electric pressure cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own electric pressure cooker and time adjusted as needed.
