How to Make Ham Steak Dinner in a Slow Cooker

We love ham steaks in this house. They can be used in so many different recipes and taste amazing. I had made a delicious Crock Pot Ham Steak and Potatoes a while back. I remembered it when I was brainstorming ideas for new recipes, and I had a thought. What if I added some green beans? The result was a delicious one-pot meal that my family devoured!
This recipe does not have a ton of prep, so it makes throwing it together quickly easy. The cooking time isn’t long either, so even if you haven’t had time to put something on early in the day, you can still have this wonderful, slow cooker one-pot meal done in time for dinner. I hope you and your family love this meal as much as we do!
What You Will Need for Slow Cooker Ham Steak Dinner
Ingredients Needed
- 1.25 lb ham steak
- 14.5 oz can green beans, drained
- 3 medium sized russet potatoes, peeled and sliced thin
- Pepper to taste
Equipment Needed
- Vegetable peeler
- Sharp knife
- Cutting board
- Can opener
- Can colander
- Spatula (to remove the ham steak halfway through cooking while you stir the green beans and potatoes)
- Plate
- Stirring spoon
- 4 quart slow cooker
Time Needed
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Cooking Time: 5 to 6 hours on low or 2.5 to 3 hours on high (You will need to remove the ham steak halfway through cooking to stir the green beans and potatoes, and then place the ham steak back on top of the green beans and potatoes. You will replace the lid and continue cooking for the remainder of the time.)

Slow Cooker Ham Steak Dinner
Ingredients
- 1.25 lb ham steak
- 14.5 oz can green beans drained
- 3 medium Russet Potatoes peeled and sliced thin
- pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place your sliced potatoes in the bottom of a lightly greased 4 quart slow cooker.
- Pour your drained green beans over your potatoes and pepper to taste.
- Place your ham steak on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 2.5-3 hours.
- Halfway through cooking, remove your ham steak and place on a plate, stir your potatoes and green beans, place the ham steak back on top of the veggies, replace the lid and cook for the remainder of the cooking time. (It is done when the potatoes are fork tender.)
