Meal Planning on a Budget
Aunt Lou here.
I’m back again with Budget Meal Plan: Week 24. This meal plan is going to save you money by using a couple of ways that I use quite a bit to save money. We are going to be using as many canned ingredients that we can and some frozen ingredients as well. This will help us to have a great menu for the week that will fill you up, tickle your taste buds and keep more money in your wallet.
One great thing about canned and frozen food is that it is, on average, cheaper than its fresh counterparts. Another thing I love about canned and frozen food is that you have a lot more wiggle room around when it will go bad, as apposed to fresh ingredients that have a much shorter shelf life. So, you may very well already have some of the ingredients for this week in your home already, which will save you money on your grocery bill this week. It is also usually pretty easy to find generics in canned and frozen foods, so you can save anywhere from a few pennies to a few dollars on each item. All of these savings can start to add up real quick, which is music to my ears!
