Meal Planning on a Budget

Aunt Lou here.

I like to keep things simple when I can. Life is hectic enough. I don’t want to make meal planning complicated. For Budget Meal Plan: Week 39, we are going to use meat that is generally cheaper to buy per pound. This way you are getting more bang for your buck when it comes to what is usually the highest cost item per serving of any meal.

I realize the prices of grocery items vary greatly depending on where you live and buy groceries. However, all the places I have traveled and bought groceries have had one thing in common. From Indiana to Florida to Colorado and more, I find that the meats I use in this menu are cheaper than other meats. If the prices are different where you live, you can always use our Recipe Finder and filter the recipes by the ingredients that are cheaper to buy in your area. I love this feature, even for myself, because I can look up recipes that fit what I need any given week.
