Budget Meal Plan

Meal Planning on a Budget

Aunt Lou here.

For Budget Meal Plan: Week 51, we are simply going to use what we have. I put together a menu with recipes that use refrigerator/freezer/pantry staples. My hope is that this meal plan will be something you like or at least a jumping off point. However, I recognize ingredients I consider a staple may not be ingredients you consider a staple. So, if you need to change some of the recipes in this menu to fit what you have in your home, you can use our Recipe Finder to look for recipes with specific ingredients. It is an easy way to customize this menu to your needs.

Budget Meal Plan: Week 51

Monday: Crock Pot BBQ Chicken Chowdown with a side of Slow Cooker Sweet and Tangy Baked Beans (The bacon goes really well with the other flavors in the BBQ Chicken Chowdown. However, if you are needing a way to cut costs, you could leave out the bacon and still have a delicious main dish.)

Tuesday: Leftover Crock Pot BBQ Chicken Chowdown and Slow Cooker Sweet and Tangy Baked Beans

Wednesday: Creamy Cajun Crock Pot Pork Chops with a side of Crock Pot Parsley Potatoes (A way to make the Parsley Potatoes more cost effective is to use full size potatoes, leave the skin on and cut them into baby potato size chunks. You will want to watch it closely the first time you make it so you can adjust the cooking time for the type of potato you are using. The flavor of this recipe will work great with most types of cheaper potatoes.)

Thursday: Leftover Creamy Cajun Crock Pot Pork Chops and Crock Pot Parsley Potatoes

Friday: Crock Pot One-Pot Chicken Casserole (Since this is a one pot meal, another dish is not really necessary.)
