How to Make Meat and Potato Stew in a Crock Pot
Aunt Lou here.
This yummy Crock Pot Meat and Potato Stew is a special recipe around here. You see, it is inspired by a recipe Michael’s Papaw and Mamaw James used to make while he was growing up. When he told me the idea, I was all for him trying it out! He loves cooking just as much as his Mamaw and Papaw did, and I loved seeing him light up as he made his own recipe based off his grandparents’ recipe. So, I can’t take credit for this recipe. It is a Michael original.
This is a great recipe to put on in the morning on low and enjoy that evening for dinner. However, if you need it a little faster, it can be cooked on high. There are not many recipes involving beef that I will say it is okay to cook on high, and this recipe is one of them. We tried it on high, and the results were just as yummy! Whichever way you need to make it, I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Oh my this looks delicious. Would brown gravy mix work in this? (Just being prepared if I can’t find the mushroom gravy mix) thank you 😊
Hi Brandy!
I haven’t tried it with brown gravy, but think that would be a good substitution if you can’t find the mushroom gravy mix. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes! I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
