How to Make Swedish Meatloaf in a Slow Cooker
Aunt Lou here.
So a little while back I made these delicious Crock Pot Swedish Meatballs. While we were eating them one night, Michael said, “You should make a meatloaf like this!” So this yummy Crock Pot Swedish Meatloaf was born! It is a different taste than a normal meatloaf. In my silly mind, I laughed because it is a Sweetish Meatloaf. Get it? 🙂 We like it with brown gravy or with ketchup. Whatever floats your boat!
Ingredients Needed for Crock Pot Swedish Meatloaf
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion chopped
- 6 graham crackers finely crushed
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- brown gravy packet, prepared
Crock Pot Swedish Meatloaf Notes:
- You can make any this dish in any 4-quart Crock Pot.
- I only used one pound of meat, but you could easily double this recipe if you need more portions. If you do double this, use a 6-quart crock pot and adjust your cooking time a bit.
- You can top this with whatever you please, I like it with brown gravy, Michael likes it with ketchup. You can choose what works best for your family.

6 Graham crackers….is this 6 full sheets (like 5×3 inch) or individual sections you normally break ?
Aunt Lou says
I used 6 “full sheet” graham crackers. Enjoy!

Can this be made in the casserole crockpot?
Aunt Lou says
Hi Barbara!
I haven’t tried it yet in my casserole crock, but think it would work. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes. Enjoy!

Hi there! Your recipe was interesting. But I actually went back to my original swedish meatball recipe and used that to make my swedish meat loaf. It cooked in 2 – 1/2 hours on low in my 6 qt crock pot. I did use both the ground beef and ground pork along with rye bread crumbs. I made a creamy gravy using McCormick beef gravy packet (has no MSG and I am highly allergic to that) along with 2 cups milk and 1/2 cup sour cream. I served it with garlic mashed potatoes to rave reviews. Thanks for the basic recipe –

I’m eager to try this. The graham crackers will give it a different flavor than what we’re used to.

Hi Suzie!
It really does! It is sweet, savory and so good! Enjoy!
