Crock Pot Taco Tater Tot Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 oz packet taco seasoning
- 10.5 oz cheddar cheese soup
- 4 cups frozen tater tots
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Brown 1 lb ground beef with 2 cloves garlic and drain.
- Put the browned ground beef mixture, 10.5 oz cheddar cheese soup, 1 oz packet taco seasoning and 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese in a 6 Quart Slow Cooker and stir until well combined, scraping the sides of the slow cooker so none of the mixture is left on the sides.
- Put 4 cups frozen tater tots on top of everything in a single layer.
- Evenly sprinkle the remaining 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese on top of the tater tots.
- Put a tea towel or paper towels tightly under the lid of your slow cooker, cover and cook on high for 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 45 minutes, rotating your slow cooker halfway through the cooking time, if your slow cooker does not cook evenly (You can cook it on low for 2.5-3.5 hours, but I prefer cooking this particular recipe on high.)
- If desired and using a broiler safe crock, place in broiler on high for approximately 2-4 minutes to brown cheese on top and crisp up the tater tots. (Make sure you watch it continually so that it does not burn.)
