How to Make Easy Corn on the Cob on a Stove Top
Aunt Lou here.
I love when fresh corn on the cob is available in my area. In my neck of the woods, we eat sweet corn. There is nothing like straight from the field sweet corn, in my opinion. We usually buy quite a few dozen to freeze for later (you can find that recipe here), but we also like to buy ears to cook up in small batches to go with dinner. That’s where this Easy Corn on the Cob recipe comes in to play. It is incredibly simple and gives you amazing corn every time.
There is probably enough topping for 7 or 8 ears of corn. My pot is only big enough for about 4 ears, so if I need to make more, I will just make them in batches. If you have a bigger pot that will allow for more ears and need to make more ears, go for it!

Easy Corn on the Cob
Ingredients
- 4 Ears of Corn Shucked and Cleaned
- Water
- 1/4 Cup Butter Melted
- 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
- 3 tablespoon Fresh Parsley Minced
- 1 tablespoon Fresh Chives Minced, (or 1 teaspoon dried chives)
- Salt and Pepper to Taste I used Kosher Salt
Instructions
- Fill your large pot 3/4 of the way full with water, place lid on pot and bring to a boil over medium high heat.
- Place your shucked and cleaned ears in the boiling water and replace lid.
- Once water has returned to a boil, cook for 3-5 minutes, until corn in bright yellow and tender.
- While your corn is cooking, mix together remaining ingredients, except salt and pepper.
- Once corn is done, place in a long, shallow dish and drizzle with butter mixture.
- Roll around in dish to coat and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Notes
- There is enough topping for 7-8 ears of corn. My pot is not large enough to do that many at once, so I have to do them in batches when cooking more. If you have a larger pot that will fit more ears, you can make them all at once.
