How to Make Cajun Chicken in an Instant Pot

Aunt Lou here.

This recipe is incredibly simple! It is perfect for anyone who has a crazy schedule and needs an easy weeknight meal or for anyone who is just getting started with their electric pressure cooker and wants an easy meal to get their feet wet. Your chicken turns out tender and juicy with a wonderful flavor! Ryder and Iyla gobbled it up just as fast as Michael and I did!

This Instant Pot Cajun Chicken recipe is incredibly easy and is great on its own, over rice or over noodles! Young and old alike will love it!

Instant Pot Cajun Chicken Notes:

  • This recipe can be made in any 6 quart electric pressure cooker including: Instant Pot, Ninja Foodi and Crock Pot Express.
  • If you use an 8-quart electric pressure cooker, you may want to use an extra 1/2 cup of broth to help bring it up to pressure.
  • You can find more electric pressure cooker recipes here: Electric Pressure Cooker Recipes
  • If you would prefer to use a slow cooker, you can use our Crock Pot Cajun Chicken instead.
  • Check out all our favorite recommendations for cookbooks, slow cookers and low carb essentials in our Amazon Influencer Shop.
  • As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly. As a result, your nutritional content depends on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish. The auto-calculation is just an automated estimate and should NOT be used for specific dietary needs.
  • Finally, all electric pressure cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own electric pressure cooker and time adjusted as needed.

      Hi Pat!

I haven’t tried making this recipe with frozen chicken. We test every recipe before posting it, especially with the Instant Pot, and don’t like to make recommendations without trying it first. Be sure you use a meat thermometer when you try it the first time to ensure your chicken has reached safe temperature. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!
