Instant Pot BBQ Beer Roast Notes:

  • If you don’t have beer, you can use cola instead.
  • This recipe can be made in any 6 quart electric pressure cooker including: Instant Pot, Ninja Foodi and Crock Pot Express.
  • You can find more electric pressure cooker recipes here: Electric Pressure Cooker Recipes
  • If you would prefer to use a slow cooker, you can use our Crock Pot BBQ Beer Roast instead, but your roast will need to be thawed to use our Crock Pot recipe.

  • Finally, all electric pressure cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own electric pressure cooker and time adjusted as needed.

I usually buy whatever roast is the cheapest when I am at the store. As long as it will fit in your Instant Pot, it should work. I haven’t tried this with a bottom beef round roast, but think it will work nicely.

    Hi, 🙂
After it’s finished cooking, do you give it a quick release or a 5-10 minutes natural release? xo

I usually let it natural release for about 15 minutes before quick releasing. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do!

How long would you cook it if your roast is not frozen? I would really like to try it!

      Hi Joy!

I have not tried this recipe with a thawed roast. Depending on the size of your roast, I would start with around 60-70 minutes on high, making sure your electric pressure cooker does not switch over to keep warm. If you give it a try, let me know what time you used and how it turned out!
