How to Make Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole in an Oven
Aunt Lou here.
Dear readers, this Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole oven recipe was a HUGE hit in my house. My youngest, who tends to eat like a little bird more often than not, at her entire bowl! My oldest went back for seconds, and both of the kids, as well as Michael and myself, were raving about how yummy it tastes!
You’ll notice that on this version of the recipe I listed the onions as optional. The reason for this change is that while I thought I had a whole bag of onions in the house, I did not have a single one! So, I have now had this recipe with and without the onion slices. Either way, it is yummy. So, it is entirely up to you and your personal preferences (or what you have in your home at the time you are making it!).
I cooked the French fries right on top to make it so you don’t have to cook them separately. We loved it. However, if you would like to cook your French fries on their own, feel free. You will just need to watch it closely the first time you make it and adjust your cooking time accordingly since you won’t be cooking the French fries and casserole together.

I doubled the recipe and tweeked the original version. I added worcestershire sauce and Mc cormics grill mates along with Velveeta to the hamburger mixture. I also layered, in a checker board pattern, dill and bread and butter pickles along with a layer of cherry tomatoes I cut into quarters. It was a huge hit in our household of 7.
Those alterations sound yummy! I’m so glad you and your family enjoyed this!
