Meal Planning on a Budget

Aunt Lou here.

If you have looked at many of the budget meal plans, you might have noticed a trend. I like to keep things simple. So, for this week’s Budget Meal Plan: Week 50, we are going to keep it simple by using recipes that have inexpensive seasonings or sauces to give our meals wonderful tastes that will delight any palate.

Many of the recipes use ingredients you may already have in your spice cabinet or rack. A few other ingredients, like butter and broth, you might have in your fridge, pantry or lazy suzy. Most of the recipes this week have very few ingredients in them. There are some recipes that have longer ingredient lists, but they include items like butter or spices, that you most likely already have, to create wonderful flavors without costing an arm and a leg.

In addition to using ingredients that are budget friendly to add incredible flavors to these recipes, we are also using meats like chicken, pork and ground beef. While no meat is super cheap, the meat used in these recipes is as about as cost effective as you can get.
