How to Make Brown Sugar Bacon Chicken in a Crock Pot

A while back I made some Brown Sugar Bacon Slow Cooker Pork Chops that everyone in my house loved. I had a pack of chicken this week that I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with it when those amazing pork chops came to mind. I knew that the flavors would work wonderfully with chicken. So, now you have this delicious Crock Pot Brown Sugar Bacon Chicken recipe to try, and you will want to try it. They are wonderful!
This recipe is incredibly simple. There are only 3 ingredients and not a lot of prep time needed. The flavors of the chicken, bacon and brown sugar all cooking together give you an amazing cooking sauce that is awesome when spooned over top of your chicken. This will be a recipe we will make again and again around here.
What You Need for Crock Pot Brown Sugar Bacon Chicken
Ingredients Needed
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into thigh size pieces)
- 1 lb bacon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
Equipment Needed
- Measuring cup
- Casserole Crock Pot
- Optional: Baking sheet, parchment paper, tongs or flipper spatula, spoon
Time Needed
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Cooking Time: 3 to 4 hours on low or 1.5 to 2 hours on high, turning insert halfway through cooking if your slow cooker does not cook evenly
- Optional Additional Cooking Time: 1 to 3 minutes in the broiler on high

Crock Pot Brown Sugar Bacon Chicken
Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into thigh size pieces)
- 16 oz bacon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Wrap 2 to 3 pieces of bacon around each piece of chicken. (How many pieces per chicken will depend on how many pieces of bacon are in your pack.)
- Place bacon wrapped chicken in a casserole crock pot.
- Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the top of your chicken.
- Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or high for 1.5-2 hours. (Turn your insert halfway through cooking if your slow cooker does not cook evenly.)
- If desired, place chicken on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper and spoon some of the cooking liquid over your chicken. Broil on high for 1-3 minutes until your bacon reaches your preferred amount of browning. (Do NOT walk away while using your broiler. Watch it continually.)
- Serve chicken with remaining cooking juices spooned over top.
