How to Chicken Tater Tot Casserole in a Crock Pot
Aunt Lou here.
In case you have missed a pattern around here, we love tater tot casseroles in my house. We also love the Melt In Your Mouth recipes. As I do every week, I was trying to come up with a new recipe idea to try out for you. Then it hit me! I could alter the Crock Pot Melt-In-Your-Mouth Chicken recipe to make it work with some tater tots to make a casserole. The results were a wonderful comfort food casserole that was raved over by everyone in my house.
This casserole is great for a few reasons. There are very few ingredients in this casserole. It makes it super simple to throw together, but you still get flavor and a delicious gravy under those tots! If you have a large family, you can easily double the recipe and put it in a 6 quart slow cooker or casserole crock pot. The cooking time should be quite similar to the single batch. As always, whether you are making a single in a 4 quart slow cooker or double batch, you will want to closely the first time you make it so you can adjust the cooking time for your specific slow cooker as needed. My 4 quart slow cooker tend to cook hotter than my casserole crock or 6 quart slow cookers. So, be aware that if you don’t watch it closely, your tots could fall apart. It will still taste great, but it won’t be as pretty.

Hi ☺️For the chicken tater tot crock pot recipe, can you cook it on low?
When cooking with tater tots, I have always cooked them on high and haven’t ever tried cooking them on low. So, I am not sure if they would cook up well on low or fall apart. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes.
