How to Make Corn Dog Casserole in a Crock Pot
Aunt Lou here.
Whether you have kiddos living in your house full time, have kids visit from time to time or love having a fun dish as an adult, this Crock Pot Corn Dog Casserole is for you! It is super simple to throw together, and you just might have all the ingredients you need in your house right this moment. To top it off, it is delicious!
It doesn’t matter if it is summer time, back to school, fall break (you get the idea), the kiddos need fed year round, and lets be honest, sometimes children can be quite picky eaters. This takes a childhood favorite food, the corn dog, and makes it into a fun casserole! My two kids loved this recipe as is and with ketchup. You and your loved ones can dress it up with your favorite corn dog condiments.
What You Will Need for Crock Pot Corn Dog Casserole

- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar, divided

- Sharp knife
- Cutting board
- Measuring cup

Time Needed

General Notes
- When baking in a crock pot, it is imperative to use a crock pot that you know does not cook too hot. If a slow cooker cooks too hot, it will burn the edges before the center finishes cooking.

Crock Pot Corn Dog Casserole
Ingredients
- 17 oz Jiffy Corn Bread Mix prepared (2 – 8.5 oz boxes)
- 1 pack hot dogs sliced (packs usually weight between 12-16 oz depending on the brand)
- 1.5 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese divided
Instructions
- In a large bowl, prepare your corn bread mixes per the instructions on the box.
- Add your hot dog slices and 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese to the prepared corn bread mix and stir until well combined.
- Spread your mixture evenly across the bottom of a lightly greased casserole crock pot or 6 quart crock pot.
- Sprinkle your remaining cheese evenly across the top of the casserole.
- Put some paper towels or a thin tea towel tightly under your lid (to keep condensation from dripping onto your casserole). It is important that it is tight and not drooping in the center. You do not want it to touch the casserole.
- Cover and cook on high for 90 minutes to 2 hours, turning your insert halfway through cooking if your crock pot doesn't cook evenly. (It is done when the center is set and the edges are golden.)
Notes
- When baking in a crock pot, it is imperative to use a crock pot that you know does not cook too hot. If a slow cooker cooks too hot, it will burn the edges before the center finishes cooking.
