How to Make Easy Pizza Sliders in an Oven

Aunt Lou here.

When I first made these Easy Pizza Sliders, I made them in my crock pot. You can find that version of the recipe here. My family gobbled them right up. So, I knew they wouldn’t mind if I tried this recipe again in the oven. The results? Everyone raved about them and gobbled them right up again.

These sliders are great for a busy weeknight or to take to a potluck. You only need to bake them for about 15 minutes, so as long as your oven doesn’t take more than 15 minutes to preheat, you can have them ready to go in a half hour or less. It took me less time to put them together than it took for my oven to preheat, so waiting on the preheat is the longest part of the prep. Regardless of where you are going to serve these, at home or a party, I am betting everyone will absolutely love them!

Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls kept together and not broke apart
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce (If you like more sauce, go ahead and use more.)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasoning divided
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • Your favorite pizza toppings
  • 1/4 cup Butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Place all the rolls on a large cutting board and take a large knife to slice all your rolls in half at the same time (do not break them apart) and gently remove the tops as one big piece.
  • Spread your pizza sauce evenly on the bottom halves of the rolls that are still all connected.
  • Sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon of your garlic powder and 1/4 teaspoon of Italian seasoning evenly across the top of the sauce.
  • Sprinkle your Mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce and seasonings.
  • Evenly spread desired pizza toppings on top of cheese.
  • As one piece, place the top halves of your rolls back on top of the bottom part of the sliders.
  • Pick up the cutting board and gently slide the sliders as one large loaf off the cutting board and onto a large baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl or coffee cup, mix together remaining ingredients.
  • Brush the tops of the sliders with the butter mixture liberally with a basting brush.
  • Bake for approximately 15 minutes, until the tops reach desired golden color and crispness.
  • Cut the sliders apart and serve.
