What You Will Need for Homemade Hornet’s Nest Cake (Oven Recipe)
Aunt Lou here.
The flavor of this Homemade Hornet’s Nest Cake recipe is absolutely incredible. The pudding and cake mix combine to make an amazing cake. Then the butterscotch chips and pecans come together to make the perfect topping. While I love this cake all on its own, you can also dress it up however you like. My oldest loves to play with the recipes I make. He took his slice of cake and topped it with a little vanilla ice cream and caramel ice cream topping. I do believe he raved about it for a good ten minutes.
When making this, you can use the toothpick test. However, it is a little tricky with the melted butterscotch chips on top. I usually try to find a place in the middle of the cake where there is a small gap in the butterscotch chips on top. It makes it easier to know for sure when the cake is done.
