Momma came up with this awesome recipe a little while back. We have been cRockin’ different versions of this recipe ever since. But what to do if you don’t have time to cRock?! This delicious recipe comes to the rescue! This is a true dump and go recipe…and can be made on a busy weeknight easy peasy!

Instant Pot Good Gravy Recipe
Instant Pot Good Gravy Chicken
Ingredients
- 2.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken
- 10.75 oz can beefy mushroom soup
- 10.75 oz can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 oz ranch dip mix
- 1 oz brown gravy mix packet
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- Pepper Jack Cheese
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Place your chicken in a metal bowl that will fit in your 6-quart Instant Pot
- Pour your soups on top
- Sprinkle your mixes on top of the soups
- Use your broth to rinse out the can of cream of mushroom soup and drizzle over the top of your mixes
- Cover your chicken with slices of pepper jack cheese
- Pour your water into your Instant Pot, place trivet inside with bowl on the trivet
- Seal and cook on high pressure for 15 minutes.
- Natural release for 15 minutes, then quick release
- Stir the melted cheese into your gravy.
- If your gravy isn't thick enough, put in more cheese slices, put your lid back on for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and stir again.

- If using frozen chicken, cook under high pressure for 25 minutes instead of 15 minutes.

What if I do not have a metal bowl that will fit inside of my instant pot?

I have not tried this recipe without the metal bowl. If you are unable to purchase a small metal bowl, you might try placing the meat on the trivet. I would not recommend putting the meat directly on the bottom of your insert. I tried it, and ended up with the burn notice. If you give it a try with the meat on the trivet, let me know if it turns out well!

i dont like mushrooms. is there something else i can substitute for the cream of mushroom soup and the beefy mushroom soup?

I haven’t tried this recipe with any substitutions. You might try cream of chicken and beef consomme. I am not sure how it will change the taste though. You might try this delicious recipe out: https://www.recipesthatcrock.com/3-ingredient-crock-pot-chicken/
