How to Make Smoked Sausage Bean Soup in a Crock Pot
Aunt Lou here.
This delicious Smoked Sausage Crock Pot Bean Soup recipe is not only a recipe that even my picky eater loves and claims as her new favorite soup, it is one that can be thrown together in a hurry and cooks up in 2 to 3 hours on high. So, for a slow cooker recipe, that is pretty fast. If you needed the prep work to be even faster for you on the day you are making it, I have two tips. First, you could slice the smoked sausage into half inch slices the night before. The second tip is to use minced garlic in water in a jar instead of mincing your own garlic. These two tricks will make this recipe a true dump and go recipe on the day you make it.
If you are looking for an idea what to serve with this, I would love to share with you our two favorites. The first is just a good ol’ fashioned pan of cornbread…whatever kind of cornbread you prefer. Another great side to go with this soup is this delicious homemade bread. You can make it in the crock pot or the oven.
( Psst…if you would like to try the ground beef version of this recipe, you can find it here.)
