Meal Planning on a Budget
Aunt Lou.
For Budget Meal Plan: Week 22, I am using some of my all-time favorite recipes. Not only do they taste incredible, they are easy on my (and your) bank account and are easy to throw together! The use of sauces with our main dishes that are not expensive give you a bunch of flavor without spending a ton of money or using a long list of ingredients.
Now, I know that the prices of different sauces and dressing can vary greatly depending on which one you buy. There are quite a few generic brands available in different stores that are really affordable. I have also found a few name brand versions that are priced very reasonably as well. So, while you are in the store, make sure you look at all the options available and compare the prices before you grab your ingredients. If you take the price of the item and divide that by the number of ounces, that will give you the price per ounce. Doing this quick math on your calculator will help you see which item gives you the best value for your money. I always do this when I am in the store.
