Anyone love a good recipe that is easy to make? I know I do! This recipe is a twist on our Cheesy Salsa Crock Pot Chicken Rice, which was an instant family favorite! And you know how much we love smoked sausage around here, so it was a given that I’d try this yummy recipe with smoked sausage. The result is a delicious recipe that is sure to please!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage sliced
  • 21.5 oz cans Cheddar cheese soup (2 – 10.75 oz cans)
  • 16 oz jar chunky salsa
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1 1/4 cups uncooked long-cooking rice NOT minute rice

Instructions

  • Mix together all of your wet ingredients in your 6-quart crock pot
  • Stir in your rice and sausage until well combined
  • Cover and cook on low for 5 hours, stirring occasionally (it is done when the rice is tender)

  1. I didn’t have salsa so I used the equivalent amount of rotel and I used bulk turkey sausage. Turned out really well. This recipe will go in the use again book. Thank you for sharing it!! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’•โœจ

    Very good, and very easy. Would be great with browned hamburger instead of sausage, however the sausage was great it it also. With hamburger, this would make a great stuffing for stuffed green peppers. Was a lot like spanish rice. I used a “medium” salsa, and it was just right, heat-wise.
