How to Make Holiday in a Bowl Casserole in a Crock Pot
Aunt Lou here.
So this Crock Pot Holiday in a Bowl Casserole is crazy good. It is similar to a Shepard’s Pie or Farmer’s Pie with the layering, but a little different. The flavors of everything cook together to make this incredibly delicious casserole that even this picky eater loves.
While this recipe isn’t a dump and go recipe, it is still really simple to throw together. The chicken cooks up quick, then it is just a matter of layering everything in your crock pot. Your slow cooker does the rest of the work. Yes, everything is already cooked, except for the stuffing. The cooking time for this recipe is necessary for the same reason you would throw this in the oven. The time it spends in the crock pot gives the flavors time to meld together into a wonderful concoction that will let you feel like you are having a holiday dinner any time of year! (Psst…if you are looking for an easier dinner idea for the holidays, this would be a great way to have an easy but delicious dinner for your holiday table!)
